24 Things

It’s that time of year again, friends. Today I turned 24 which ultimately is boring and uneventful because time is an illusion and I feel the same today as I did yesterday. But regardless of that, I want to share with you a list of 24 things I’ve learned this year. I’m killing it with these yearly posts. Gotta build that #brand. Anyway, without further adieu, here it is.

  1. Be thankful
  2. Forgive even if they don’t deserve it
  3. If you are uncertain, ask
  4. Breathe
  5. If you’re stuck in a rut, challenge yourself
  6. It’s okay to need time alone
  7. Starting over is always an option
  8. You won’t always feel this way™
  9. Moving will always suck
  10. Be patient
  11. Listen before you speak
  12. Don’t drink caffeine if you’re feeling anxious
  13. Drink more water in general
  14. You are not your limitations, weaknesses or illness
  15. Asking for help, although difficult, does not make you weak
  16. Sometimes you lose friends no matter how hard you try
  17. Don’t waste time regretting mistakes, learn from them and grow
  18. No one is perfect
  19. Life rarely goes as planned
  20. Question everything
  21. Don’t wait to make the changes you are passionate about
  22. Rest but don’t give up
  23. Buy things you like even if others don’t. You’re your own person for a reason.
  24. Be compassionate towards others as well as yourself.

What is the biggest thing you’ve learned in your lifetime?

Today I’m thankful for making it another year

  1. Hi there, happy belated birthday! I love this list– what a nice way to reflect on your year. And it looks like you found some nuggets of wisdom this year. I especially like #11. Sometimes it is so hard to LISTEN, rather than just waiting for your next turn to speak. I have to remind myself of this from time to time. 🙂

It’s sooo hard to just listen and just wait to respond. Thankfully I’ve had a lot of practice at it. It get easier with time.
