Strangers

I didn’t expect to see you here
Though, of course,
I’m not sure where here is.
Is this my dream or is it yours?
It’s been months since we last talked
And how quickly time slipped by
I know it’s just a fantasy
Because this memory is a lie
Yet, there I am
Or maybe here you are
And I wonder if you feel my presence
Somewhere close, but still so far
Or is my soul only a ghost
Passing silently through
Just another nameless stranger
The other never knew
Unanswered questions
Fill the spaces inbetween
You and my outstretched arms
Now waking from this dream

Say what? I know.

This one is a bit weird. I had a dream about an old friend the other day and it spurred the first verse of this poem. Thankfully it had been so long since the dream that I couldn’t actually remember what it was about. That being said, I took it in a completely different direction. So although Old Friend inspired this poem, it’s not in anyway about them. THANK GOD!

Honestly, this probably isn’t my best work but I ain’t ashamed of it. This year is about growth and practicing my creativity so #DealWithIt!

I wonder if there will come a time when I stop finding it funny to add a # to things like that. Maybe but for now, we live.

Thanks for stopping by for another Poetry Monday. I hope you’ll stop by again next week!

Catch ya on the flip side!
